ModelTech
was one of the first company that made a brushless motor
system specifically for the Traxxas E-Maxx. Most people will think
at least twice before spending $450 for just a motor. Especially
a complete Traxxas E-Maxx kit is only around $325 now days. But
why brushless, well there are two main reason, first it's
maintenance free, you just have to drop some motor oil once
a while, since it's brushless, so never need to change motor
brush, that's a lots of saving in the long term. If you
think that one, this might be the last motor you ever will
buy, so the price is pretty good.
Second
reason, most important, it's crazy insane scary fast. I
don't know how to describe this. But with two 8 cells, it
was way faster than my .21 T-Maxx. You can easily go over
45MPH with the right pinion setup. That's only with one
brushless motor, with two, I don't even want to think about
it.
Once
you buy this kit, you no longer need an electronic speed
controller. It came with a very nice controller, the break
on this unit is the best. It break as if you have ABS on
a real car, okay seriously it's like glue, if you break
hard a lot, you will be getting new tires soon.
