RC4WD:
Tell us a little bit about your RC and Dragster Racing?

Sam:

Like most guys, I started out with the toys (RadioShacks, Tyco's, etc)and after I got tired of pileing up vehicles due to gearbox troubles, I decided to take the plundge into the real R/C world.

My first 'hobby grade' truck was an old, beat up Ruster I bought off my cousin for $100.00, RTR with everything I needed to begin. (And alot I didn't!)
As I slowly improved the performance, I figured what I was really looking for was a Monster Truck, so I bought a whole bunch of different parts from my LHS, and my Stampede was born!

Well, as alot of you may not know, we run a 5 car Jr Dragster Racing Team. (Repp Racing) Jr Dragster's are 1/2 the size of the ones you see on TV, and they run on a 5HP, Briggs and Stratton block. (Most are modified past the point of recognition.)
My car was built by Hardens Race Cars, sponcered by Royal Purple, JDRCA, and Siskiyou RV World.
I run a 3 1/4 Blockzilla which will churn up around 50HP, and run consistant 8.40's at about 75-77 MPH. (In the 1/8th mile, also half of what the big guys run.)
My siblings run similur, my little brother will run 8.90's at 74 MPH, my older sister 11.50's, and my little sisters 13's and 15's.
We race all around the state of Oregon, Souther Oregon Dragway, Woodburn Dragstrip, Coos Bay, and we may go to the Conference Finals in Denver next season.
If you would like more information, check out our website at www.JDRCA.com, or e-mail me at ReppBoysRacing@aol.com.

RC4WD:
What's your favorite truck?
Sam:
Hands down, the Stampede has got to be it!
It can take just about anything you can possibly image to dish out, and begs for more!
RC4WD:
What's your favorite mod and why?
Sam:
Its a toss up between the Super Rooster and the addition of the 7 cell pack. The more juice you can send to that motor, the better!
RC4WD:
Any short cool story to share?
Sam:
Lol, we were on a vacation once and we went to see the Badlands of South Dakota. Well, when I saw it, I automaticly thought, 'poser pics! I sat my truck down on the edge of a sharp ledge, and I figured the torque of the motor I was currently running (Magnitic Mayhem) would hold it back. Well, I figured wrong, and my beloved Pede (as us peder's call em) went rolling down the hill, just before I took my shot. Now, I'm a crazy kid, so I went in after it, and once I got it back, my parents were plenty worried. But somehow, (as I was getting more posers) it went in again! Down I went, and I think it was safe to say, I wasnt taking any more 'poser pics that day.
RC4WD:
Do you have plans for a new RC truck in the near future?
Sam:
Yes, I just got done ordering my T-Maxx today, (I am VERY excited about that, I have wanted one ever sence they relesed the originals, so again, very happy!) and I think I may try my luck with some 1/10th scale Dragsters and Funny Cars!

One of our favorite picture, sweet shot!

Sam's other toy:

wow, that's huge!
